Be Ready

My Fire Team meeting was this morning at 6 am.Man in sleeping bed, morning time I did not want to get up. I was tired. It had been a long week already. The devil even tried to convince me that we were not making any great things happen in the Kingdom so what was the use? Just stay in bed!  But I rolled out of bed, got ready and sat down in my chair to read the Bible before I went to my meeting.

God showed me Luke 12:35. Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning.

As I read further, it answered why. So when Jesus comes and knocks, I will immediately open the door for Him. It will be good for me if He finds me watching when He comes. It will be good for me if Jesus finds me ready. Don’t let my house be broken into. Jesus will come when I don’t expect Him. Be ready.

What does ready look like? Not hypocritical but sincere—–not fearful but ready to witness—-not worried but trusting—-not greedy but generous—-not lazy but diligent——greet Him joyfully.

Here are some thoughts on being ready.

Jesus rarely comes where you expect him. We can be true to God by being ready for surprise visits.

Expect Jesus at every turn. We should have child-like wonder. If I set my heart on what He wants, I will be called impractical and dreamy but I will be the only one who is ready.

Trust no one, even saints, if they hinder my sight of Jesus.

2 Tim 4:2 says “Preach the Word. Be ready in season or out of season. Correct, Rebuke, and Encourage with great patience and careful instruction.

There it is. In season or out of season. In other words, whether I feel like or not feel like it, I must be ready.

Are You?  Something to ponder.
